Family business with tradition
Master glove maker Franz Ziener came with his family from the Ore Mountains to Oberammergau in Upper Bavaria in 1946. In the same year, he founded the Ziener glove manufactory, where he and three employees produced high-quality glacier gloves. The first ski gloves were produced starting in 1952. Just two years later, Ziener was the glove supplier to the German National Ski Team and remained so until the mid-1980s.
Ziener is still a family business. In 1970, Franz Ziener's son Ernst took over the company and moved production to Hungary, Yugoslavia and the Far East. However, the development as well as the design and editing of the collections still take place in Oberammergau today. Since 1980 Franz Ziener Junior has been running the company in the third generation. In the 1990s, Ziener expanded its range to include ski and snowboard clothing, before the first Ziener bike collection finally followed in 2002.

Market leader for winter sports gloves
Ziener has now developed into one of the largest producers of winter gloves in Europe and equips, among others, the Bavarian (BSV) and the German Ski Association (DSV) as well as the German Ski Instructors Association (DSLV).
As a supplier to numerous professional athletes, federations and national teams, the cooperation with experts from skiing and biking is part of the company's overall concept. In line with the philosophy "Made by Pros", Ziener continuously develops new products and works on improving the existing range. These include innovations such as heated gloves, activewear for ski touring and cross-country skiing or mounting gloves.
Fun Fact: The enthusiasm for winter and bike sports is also reflected in the company logo. The three lines of the Z correspond to the average gradient of blue (15°), red (27°) and black slopes (48°).

Bike collection
Ziener not only produces high-quality gloves and clothing for winter sports but also for bikers. Whether you are riding an e-bike through nature, a racing bike on the road or a mountain bike on downhill trails - with five different palm technologies, Ziener offers the right glove for every cyclist.
In Comfort gloves, the entire palm is padded, while Comfort Plus models feature a combination of foam and gel pads. The Comfort Pro Gloves promise even more cushioning. With the Grip Control and Grip Protect technologies, the gloves offer optimum handlebar control, wrist protection and shock-absorbing cushioning material.
With its bike wear, the manufacturer also supplies the matching outfit for the cycling gloves. When it comes to clothing, Ziener relies on fast-drying, breathable and low-odour materials. The brand also uses Econyl, a recycled polyamide.
