Size: EU and Mondopoint
Scarpa sizes shoes in EU sizes, ski touring and telemark boots in Mondopoint. For mountain boots, Scarpa suggests going half a size up depending on fit. Climbing shoes can be a size smaller so there's no air left at the toe.
Ski boots: lasts and liners
Scarpa builds ski touring boots on three lasts: 99 mm forefoot width for race models, 100 to 101 mm in the middle, 102 mm for comfort on long tours. The liners come from Intuition. According to Scarpa, have them heat-moulded by a specialist retailer.
GTX, HD, LV and Wmn
GTX stands for a GORE-TEX lining, HD for an HDry membrane, as on the Ribelle HD. LV models have less volume, for narrow feet and low insteps. Wmn marks the women's models.

Why do 25.5 and 26.0 share one shell?
Scarpa ski boot shells change at the half size: 25.5 and 26.0 share the same shell length, but the liner is pre-shaped for each half size. According to Scarpa, some skiers go a full Mondopoint size smaller.
Three or four buckles on a ski boot?
According to Scarpa, models with four buckles are geared more towards the descent. With three, you have more freedom of movement on the ascent.
Which climbing shoe suits me?
Scarpa divides its climbing shoes into three families. Specialized Performance aims for maximum precision, Balanced Performance combines precision with a comfortable fit. Relaxed Fit suits beginners, the climbing gym and multi-pitch routes.
How long are ski boot spare parts available?
According to Scarpa, around 36 months from a model's last production year, while stocks last. The parts should be replaced by an authorised service centre.
Is the Mojito a hiking shoe?
The Mojito is designed for everyday wear, travel and walks. For hiking trails there are the Mojito Trail and Mojito Hike, also with a GORE-TEX lining.

Mojito
The Mojito is Scarpa's everyday shoe, made of suede with lacing right down to the toe cap. For winter there is the City Mid GTX Wool with a wool lining and Arctic Grip sole.
Ribelle
Ribelle boots are made for high-altitude tours and mountaineering, all with an HDry membrane. They take semi-automatic crampons, and the Lite HD also suits via ferratas.
F1
The F1 is aimed at ski touring and ski mountaineering, with an Intuition liner and Vibram sole. The F1 and F1 LT close with the Boa system, the F1 GT with the Wave-Lite closure.
4-Quattro
The 4-Quattro combines ski touring boot and downhill boot, with four buckles and a GripWalk sole. The GT has more volume and a fleece insert for extra warmth.
Rush
Rush shoes go with you hiking and trekking, with a GORE-TEX lining and IKS cushioning. The Rush Polar GTX is insulated, high-cut and works with snowshoes.
Drago
The Drago is a soft climbing shoe for the gym, bouldering and sport climbing, with a large toe patch for hooks. The Drago LV has less volume, the XT two hook-and-loop straps.
