Clima Protect: the membrane
Clima Protect is CMP's waterproof membrane. In jackets such as the Woman Jacket Fixed Hood it comes with welded seams, in hiking boots such as Rigel and Moon it forms the lining. How much water pressure the fabric withstands is listed as the hydrostatic head on the product page.
Care and warranty
According to CMP, you should take the insoles out after every hike and air them, even after dry ones. For defects, CMP says a 2-year warranty applies from the date of purchase. If you bought from us, write to our customer service with your order number and photos.
Finding the right size
On the product page you pick German sizes. According to CMP, DE 50 on men's tops equals IT 50, i.e. L. Your chest measurement is what counts. If your hips are wider, choose the size by your hip measurement.
The new Rigel 2.0
CMP presents the Rigel 2.0, ten years after the first Rigel, as a Mid and a Low for women, men and kids. According to CMP, it has a new sole made of FullOn Grip rubber, a Clima Protect membrane and more ankle support.

What is FitGo?
A dial closure instead of laces. One turn of the wheel adjusts the shoe to your foot, and according to the product description you can do it with one hand. You'll find it on the Kiruna, the Rahmsy and some Rigel models.
Does the Rahmsy run large?
According to CMP, it has a comfortable Comfort Fit. If you want a closer fit, CMP recommends going one size down.
What does WP10000 in the product name mean?
The number is the hydrostatic head in millimetres. The Woman Ski Pant 4-Way Stretch WP10000 withstands 10,000 mm, the Man Ski Jacket Fix Hood as much as 20,000 mm.
How do I dry wet CMP shoes?
Take the insoles out and dry them separately. According to CMP, a few sheets of newspaper inside the shoe help. Radiators and fireplaces are off-limits.
What size does my child need?
Kids' sizes are based on height in centimetres, from 80 to 176. The size chart also gives the matching age: 128 is roughly 8 years, 152 roughly 12.

Rigel
The Rigel is the leather hiking boot with a Clima Protect membrane and FullOn Grip sole, as Mid and Low for women, men and kids. CMP gives 520 g per shoe for the men's Mid, 450 g for women's.
Moon
The Moon is built for longer treks: suede with Kevlar inserts against abrasion, a reinforced toe cap and a Vibram Tsavo sole. It comes as a Mid and a Low.
Altak
The Altak is a light low-cut shoe for speed hiking, short hikes and trails. With WP in the name it has a Clima Protect membrane; without, the upper is breathable but not waterproof.
Rahmsy
The Rahmsy has a knitted polyester upper and a 7 mm drop, designed for hiking and everyday wear. You can get it with laces or with the FitGo dial closure.
Kiruna
The Kiruna is a kids' hiking boot with the FitGo dial closure, suede and a Clima Protect membrane. The Fleece version has a faux-fur lining for cold days.
Nietos
The Nietos is a tall snow boot with a faux-fur lining and a waterproof outer shell of foamed rubber. According to CMP, its chunky lugged sole is designed to grip even on icy ground.
