The facts at a glance
Smith Summit Mips
A versatile, lightweight helmet offering optimal protection and comfort for demanding outdoor activities.
The Smith Summit Mips is a versatile helmet designed specifically for demanding outdoor activities such as skiing, via ferrata, freeskiing, ski touring, and mountaineering. The hybrid shell construction combines a rugged outer shell with a lightweight, integrally molded inner shell, ensuring optimal protection without sacrificing lightness. The helmet is equipped with the zonal KOROYD® system, which provides energy-absorbing and ventilated impact protection.
A key feature of the Summit Mips is the Mips® Brain Protection System, which reduces rotational forces during oblique impacts and thus provides additional protection. The 33 fixed vents ensure effective ventilation, while the AirEvac® system, when used with Smith® goggles, keeps the lenses fog-free. The BOA® 360 Fit System allows for precise adjustment of the helmet with a simple turn of a dial, which significantly enhances comfort.
The helmet also features a lightweight and functional knit lining; the antimicrobial Ionic+® lining provides an odor-free wearing experience, activated by sweat. Another practical feature is the integrated guide for headlamp straps, which ensures that the equipment always stays in place. Weighing just 400 g in size M, the helmet can be easily stowed in a backpack, making it the ideal companion for backcountry tours and ski mountaineering.
