A special feature of the Sulfur S GTX WS is the CLIMBING ZONE at the tip of the sole, which ensures increased precision and edge power when climbing. The Adaptive Shape Technology (AST) adapts the shoe precisely to any foot shape, while the Ortholiteu00ae footbed ensures outstanding comfort. The combination of climbing performance and walking comfort is achieved thanks to the Edge Frame technology, which optimally balances stiffness and flexibility
The shoe was developed in collaboration with mountain guides to create a perfect symbiosis of climbing precision and hiking comfort. ARCH GRIP: In the middle of the outsole, under the arch of the foot, is the rubber arch grip. It gives the shoe additional technical performance. The special shape of its "teeth" ensures better grip on slippery edges and raised edges as well as on via ferrata rungs and ladders.
CLIMBING ZONE: The outsole has a flat climbing zone at the toe. This special climbing feature ensures increased precision as well as toe and edge strength on slabs, ledges and edges, making them the perfect choice for steeper rock faces.
BACKLOOP: The small loop makes it easier to put on and take off the shoes and also allows them to be attached to a rucksack or climbing harness.

CLIMBING PRECISION
By combining adaptive memory foams with pre-molded thermoplastic inserts and an Ortholite footbed, the AST - Adaptive Shape Technology - adapts the Sulfur precisely to any foot shape. The Sulfur is built around an anatomical last and is equipped with Edge Frame technology and a Vibram®Megagrip™ outsole with climbing zone, which significantly improves climbing performance.
CLIMBING PERFORMANCE MEETS HIKING WALKABILITY
The Edge Frame plate placed above the midsole provides rigidity and support when climbing, while still allowing the shoe to flex freely when walking. The result: Climbing performance meets hiking walking function. The longitudinal elements promote stiffness and torsional stability in the toe and midfoot area. The crossed cut-out arrangements allow more flexibility in the midfoot area.
HIKING COMFORT
The midsole consists of two different densities. The softer EVA component at the heel provides cushioning and ground adaptation to ensure optimal walking comfort. The midsole and outsole are equipped with a forward-facing sole profile to enable a smoother transition from the heel to the toes and thus longer walking with greater comfort.
