The facts at a glance
Swix HS5 Turquoise, -10°C/-18°C, 900g
The HS5 Turquoise glide wax from Swix is the hardest wax in the High Speed series and is ideal for cold conditions from -10°C to -18°C. With a 900 gram pack consisting of five 180 g wax bars, it is the ideal choice for ambitious recreational skiers and young racers. The High Speed series is characterized by its high performance and durability, making it an affordable option for competitions and training.
This fluorine-free and 100% biodegradable wax significantly improves the gliding properties of skis and is suitable for alpine skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing. It is easier to apply thanks to its optimum melting point and still offers excellent dry-friction properties. Regardless of fresh snow, transformed snow or artificial snow, performance remains consistently high.
Applying the HS5 is uncomplicated: A waxing iron should be passed over the skis at a speed of 8-10 seconds. After cooling to room temperature, the wax can be reheated to improve durability. Scraping with a Plexiglas scraper after one minute is recommended. The optimum wax iron temperature is 160°C. The flexibility of HS5 allows it to be used both as a stand-alone racing wax and as a base for other racing products.
