The synthetic fibers are also enhanced with Salewa's patented Responsive technology. Responsive is based on a special blend of natural, thermoreactive minerals that recycle the body's far-infrared energy (FIR) and gradually release it. As a result, they provide better performance as well as faster recovery and keep you warm longer. These benefits last the lifetime of the fabric because Responsive is an integral part of the fiber and does not wash out.Innovative knitting processThe Cristallo has a body-hugging fit with a scoop neck and a sleeve design with an integrated gusset for more freedom of movement. It is made using a special knitting process that spins a superfine 19 micron merino wool yarn around a nylon core. This process makes the bluesign® certified fiber not only stronger, fluffier and bulkier, but also 30% lighter than a comparable baselayer fiber. The high polyamide content additionally improves durability and mechanical stretch properties. Our innovative knitting process allows the production of a one-piece torso element without disturbing seams for highest wearing comfort.
