Freeriders seeking utmost protection against cold temperatures will find what they’re looking for in the MATHON GTX. Not only is this glove extra warm; it is also part of ROECKL SPORTS’ ecologically responsible ECO.SERIES, meaning it is made from PFC-free materials with a high recycling ratio. The robust, waterproof and breathable ECO.BREEZE® Uyuni four-way stretch polyamide textile selected for the backhand consists of 93% pyrolysis oil, a recycled TPU membrane and 7% spandex. Pyrolysis oil is derived by recycling old car tires, thereby reducing the need for fossil resources. The thin yet durable GORE-TEX membrane makes the MATHON GTX water- and windproof as well as highly breathable. What’s more, the membrane is also PFC-free and certified by both bluesign® and STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. This model’s heat retention properties are further enhanced by GTX inserts with Gore plus warm technology and PrimaLoft® Gold insulation with P.U.R.E.™ technology. P.U.R.E. stands for “produced using reduced emissions,” meaning the levels of CO2 expelled during the manufacturing process were extremely reduced. The palm and parts of the backhand are made from non-slip, water-repellent drum-dyed goatskin of premium quality that stays supple even in icy temperatures and – together with the CUT-PROTECT facings and the anatomically adapted RAIL FINGER CUT with reinforced fingertips – provides protection against wear and tear. The Pull&Fit system on the long gauntlet makes it easy to pull the MATHON GTX over the jacket sleeve and secure it. And then there’s the soft-wipe thumb made from ECO.SENSE®, the pull-on aid and the recycled safety loop.
