"Radical 12Z is the sleeping bag you take when you know the night ahead will be spent under an ice wall, in a snow cave or on the approach to K2. It is filled with 880 grams of high quality Polish coir down u0142uda (900 CUIN) enclosed in zippered chambers to prevent heat loss. The sophisticated thermal structure maximizes the insulation potential of the down and keeps the cold out. We have used a mummy cut that tapers downwards to reduce the volume of air to be heated and speed up warming. At the same time, there is enough space to sleep in a down jacket or with additional layers of clothing. The sleeping bag fits snugly around the body and protects sensitive areas such as the neck, shoulders, chest and head. For additional insulation, a down-lined thermal collar has been added, which fits snugly around the neck and shoulders and keeps out cold air. The hood can be adjusted easily and precisely, even when wearing gloves, thanks to an intuitive drawstring system. Inside, a thin IRL-(Infrared Reflective Layer) layer reflects the body heat back into the sleeping bag. The outer layer consists of the GELANOTSu00e Ultra Light Ripstop Shell u2013 snowproof, moistureu2013 and abrasion-resistant yet breathableu2013. Thanks to the HMS (Humidity Management System) and waterproof inserts in the head and foot area, moisture is effectively wicked away so that the down stays fluffy and insulating for longer. The YKKReiu00df fastener is easy to open, even when wearing thick gloves, and the heat pipes sewn in along the zipper keep the warmth inside the sleeping bag. There are drying loops on the outside and the set includes two storage bags u2013 a compression bag for transportation and a loosely woven bag for storage between expeditionsu2013. We tested it in the Himalayas and tried it on the descent from K2. It's ready for whatever lies ahead."
