Edelrid Pinch
The Edelrid Pinch is an innovative belay device with locking assistance, designed specifically for sport climbing, multi-pitch routes, and rope access techniques. The direct connection to the climbing harness prevents lateral loading on the belay carabiner, which significantly increases safety while climbing. The device’s close-to-the-body position ensures improved control of the brake cord and easy operation, making it equally suitable for both right- and left-handed climbers.
A special feature of the Pinch is its switchable anti-panic function, which automatically locks when the release lever is pulled too far. This increases safety when lowering a climbing partner. In addition, the device features a second braking stage that is activated in situations with low load or high rope friction. The front steel braking grooves ensure a linear rope path and reduce rope tangling as well as signs of wear that can occur with aluminum.
The Pinch is suitable for both static ropes with a diameter of 10.0 to 10.5 mm and dynamic ropes from 8.5 to 10.5 mm. It allows you to clip into it at the belay station in four different directions in 90° increments, providing additional flexibility while climbing. This versatile belay device is ideal for anyone who prioritizes safety and functionality while climbing.
