The W Recon Insulated Shell by Black Diamond is specifically designed for ski touring in freezing temperatures and harsh winter conditions. This jacket provides excellent insulation in key areas to efficiently retain body heat. Made from a fully taped 4-way stretch fabric with BD.dry™ technology, it offers optimal protection from the elements while remaining flexible enough to move with you.
A standout feature of the Recon Stretch Insulation Shell is its removable inner cuff, which reliably keeps snow out and thus provides added comfort. The jacket offers ample storage space to safely stow essential items, making it a versatile choice for adventures in deep-winter conditions.
The shell is made of a 2-layer stretch nylon with a water-repellent coating. Thermolite T3 Ecomade TL, which is made of 100% polyester and weighs 60 gsm, is used for insulation. The ripstop nylon lining provides additional durability and comfort.

How to measure
- 1. Collar circumference:Measured around the larynx. Measured at the level of the larynx. The tape should not constrict and must be passed around the neck horizontally.
- 2. Chest:Measure the circumference at the widest part of the chest (under the armpits)
- 3. Sleeve length:The distance from top of shoulder joint to arm wrist. Angle the arm slightly and pass the tape through the elbow as well.
- 4. Waist:Measured the waist circumference below the navel. The measuring tape should not constrict the belly keeping the tape horizontal around the body.
- 5. Hips:Measure the hips circumference at the fullest part of the seat keeping the tape horizontal around the body.
