Chapter 1

On your body

Wool from your skin outwards: merino, fleece and a jacket with two sides.

Wool, from the skin outwards

1988Wool at OrtovoxThat is how long the brand has been working with wool.

Merino on your skin, fleece with merino on the inside, and jackets that insulate with wool instead of down. Ortovox thinks in layers from the inside out.

According to Ortovox, most of its merino wool comes from Tasmania, is mulesing-free and certified to the Responsible Wool Standard. For Metawool, the brand uses wool from southern Germany.

The turtle neck closes at the throat, thumb loops keep the sleeves over your wrists.

  2. 2Merino inside

Merino sits against your skin, with polyester outside and a matt, knitted surface. That is how Ortovox describes its merino fleece.

  3. 3What the drawing shows

Moisture from your skin moves out through the wool. The drawing shows the principle, simplified.

  4. 4Pockets made of loden

According to Ortovox, the hand pockets are made of loden from the Austrian company Steiner.

  5. 5Very stretchy

According to Ortovox, the fabric is very stretchy.
