Practical ski backpack

Gregory: Which features does a good ski backpack need?

Do you always try to fit all your things into your ski jacket when you're skiing? Sometimes it's not that easy. This is exactly why a ski backpack is an underrated companion. Together with backpack expert Gregory, we explain which features a good model should have and introduce you to the Gregory Verte as a suitable option.

Storage space and layout

A ski backpack should not be too big, but must still offer enough storage space and the right fastenings.
A ski backpack should not be too big, but must still offer enough storage space and the right fastenings.

One of the most important features of a good ski backpack is its storage capacity. You need to be able to carry everything you need, including your skis or snowboard. Most models have a volume of around 12-25 litres and have several compartments as well as external fastenings for large equipment.

The Verte ski backpack from Gregory is available in three sizes, ranging from 12 to 24 litres, and features a variety of compartments to help you organise your equipment. The main compartment is spacious enough to store all your essentials, while the padded front pocket is designed for avalanche equipment. Of course, the Verte model also features Cam-Lock buckles for secure ski/snowboard attachment. The front carrying system can also be used to carry snowshoes.

Comfort und fit

A chairlift-friendly design is a must for ski backpacks.
A chairlift-friendly design is a must for ski backpacks.

Another important factor when choosing a ski backpack is the fit. When skiing, the backpack should sit close to the body and distribute the weight as evenly as possible as not to affect your balance. The fit also makes a significant contribution to comfort, which should not be missing when you're wearing it for hours on end.

Gregory has equipped the Verte ski backpack with a comfortable back panel and adjustable shoulder straps that can be adapted to different body sizes. The model also has a padded hip belt in ComfortWrap design with zip pockets on both sides. It moulds comfortably to your body and supports it without restricting your freedom of movement.

Additional benefit: the Verte rucksack has a chairlift-friendly design. Like the head strap of ski goggles, the model is designed without strap ends. So don't worry about getting caught.
