DryVent and FUTURELIGHT

Both are waterproof, breathable membranes from The North Face. DryVent is used as a 2-layer, seam-sealed construction in jackets such as the Quest. FUTURELIGHT features in hiking shoes like the Vectiv Fastpack; according to the brand, air passes through the material.

Care: washing and heat

Wash membrane jackets according to the care label, with a detergent for technical clothing and without fabric softener. Dirt and skin oils weaken the water-repellent treatment. Many manufacturers recommend a little heat afterwards so that rain beads off again.

The right size

Jackets come in INT sizes from XS to 3XL; according to the size chart, chest circumference is what counts. If your lower hips are wider and the jacket should cover them, choose the size by your hips. Shoes are listed in US sizes: measure your foot length and read the size off the chart.

We Play Different

A campaign film from The North Face lasting just over a minute. Nature doesn't play games, it says, and outdoors the brand plays by its own rules.
