From the USA since 1965: ski goggles with ChromaPop lenses, ski and bike helmets with Mips and Koroyd, plus sunglasses.

Mips and Koroyd in the helmet
Mips is a low-friction layer in the helmet. According to Smith, it is designed to redirect rotational forces away from the head in angled falls. Koroyd is made of welded tubes. According to Smith, they deform on impact and absorb energy, across the whole shell or in zones, depending on the helmet.
Helmet size and Round Contour
Measure your head circumference at its widest point, about 2.5 cm above your eyebrows. Smith sizes as follows: S 51–55, M 55–59, L 59–63, XL 63–67 cm. For rounder heads there is Round Contour Fit, where each size sits one step higher.
Crash replacement for helmets
If your helmet has been involved in a crash, Smith says you shouldn't keep wearing it. For this case, Smith offers a crash replacement, which you apply for within two years of purchase.
The Vantage 2 ski helmet on video
Smith presents the Vantage 2, a ski helmet for all conditions on the mountain. According to Smith, it is designed to work together with the brand's ski goggles.
Frequently asked questions
What does ChromaPop do?
According to Smith, ChromaPop filters out exactly the wavelengths where neighbouring colours overlap. That's where the eye struggles to tell colours apart; with ChromaPop, outlines should look sharper and colours more natural. According to Smith, the lenses block 100% of UVA and UVB rays.
Spherical or cylindrical lens?
Spherical lenses, as on the I/O Mag or Sequence OTG, curve horizontally and vertically. According to Smith, this widens your peripheral view, and the larger surface helps against fogging. Cylindrical lenses, as on the Squad, only curve from left to right.
Do ski goggles fit over my glasses?
Yes, the OTG models do, such as the Reason OTG or Sequence OTG. According to Smith, cut-outs at the temples and more interior volume make room for your glasses. From the 4D range, only the 4D Mag XL fits over glasses.
How do I change the lens?
On the Mag models, magnets hold the lens; on the Squad Mag, a lever releases the lock. Replacement lenses are available for each model and size. Check the model year: according to Smith, Squad lenses from before and from 2026/27 are not interchangeable, and the I/O Mag only takes lenses from 2020/21 onwards.
Do Smith helmets and goggles go together?
Yes, according to Smith the two are designed to match. The helmets follow the curve of the goggle frame so there's no gap at the forehead, and AirEvac lets warm, moist air escape from the goggles. The helmet fits correctly when it ends just above the goggles without pressing down on them.
All-mountain helmet with a hybrid shell, Koroyd and the BOA 360 dial, which adjusts it all the way round. On the Vantage 2, two sliders control the vents on top and at the sides separately.
Ski goggles with a BirdsEye lens that curves in towards the face at the bottom, and magnetic lens change. According to Smith, two ChromaPop lenses are included: one for sun, one for low light.
Low-profile in-mould helmet with Koroyd in selected zones and 16 vents that you adjust with a regulator. It comes with or without Mips, and as the Descend Jr for kids.
Semi-frameless ski goggles with a large cylindrical lens and ChromaPop. On the Squad Mag the lens is held magnetically; the Squad S is cut for smaller faces.
