Fast Recovery with OOfoam™ Technology

The four OOFOS founders, Lou Panaccione, Paul Brown, Juan Diaz and Steve Liggett, all come from the footwear industry and have years of experience spotting and establishing new trends.

OOFOS was born from the idea of finding a material that absorbs shock and enables fast recovery after an intense workout. After countless prototypes, the OOfoam™ technology was developed. Combined with a biomechanical footbed, this created a shoe that can cushion 37% of the impact on the body. It improves how you walk and speeds up recovery after exercise. The first pair of OOFOS sold in 2011. Today, alongside the original sandals, there are also closed-toe shoes that can be worn at work and in everyday life, whatever the weather.

What Makes the Difference

At first, the shoe feels a bit unusual since it's so soft. Inside the shoe, your foot is guided into its most natural position and your weight is evenly distributed. Within a short time, you'll notice that less stress is being transferred to your body. The pressure on your joints is lower than with conventional shoes. As a result, your muscles can also relax faster after activities like running, hiking or biking. Since OOFOS shoes are very lightweight, taking them anywhere is never a problem. Because they transfer 37% less load to the body and reduce ankle exertion by 47%, the shoe isn't just a recovery shoe – it's also well suited to physically demanding jobs, such as those in hospitals or other jobs that involve standing for long periods.
