Head

The Inventor of Sandwich Construction
Head was founded in 1950 by American Howard Head. Dissatisfied with heavy wooden skis, the aeronautical engineer developed a new way to build skis. This "sandwich construction" can now be found in nearly every ski.
Over the years, Head changed ownership several times. Today, the group's headquarters are in Amsterdam and Kennelbach. The skis are manufactured in Kennelbach near Bregenz in Vorarlberg, as well as in Budweis in the Czech Republic. Production of higher-priced models, along with research and strategy, is mainly based in Austria. Head's ski bindings and boots are made in Schwechat near Vienna.
The Head ski brand is also popular among top athletes in alpine sports. Professionals like Josef Ferstl have already celebrated success with Head. Record World Cup winner Lindsey Vonn was also a Head athlete until she ended her career in 2019.

Hi-Tech Skis from Head
The V-Shape series offers an extra-light all-mountain ski. Thanks to its lightweight core made of karuba wood and graphene, the ski weighs less. Its narrower tip shape also means turns require less technique and effort. The collection ranges from entry-level models to sportier options for skilled skiers on-piste or off-piste.
For performance-oriented skiers, the Supershape series delivers reliable power, balance and control. Thanks to its especially long wood core and larger aluminum insert, the ski is extremely responsive. The Head Supershape enables quick edge changes, powerful handling and easy control.
The Joy series for women stands out with ultra-light skis that deliver control and balance on the slopes. From beginners to sporty high-performance skiers, the collection offers the right model with the ideal combination of stability and balance.
With the World Cup Rebels series, Head offers a collection for racers and those who want to become one – from short-radius skis for quick-turn fans to fast models built for slalom and giant slalom.

Perfectly Fitted
Alongside skis, Head's winter sports range also includes ski boots, bindings, helmets and goggles. To individually fit the boots to the foot, Head developed its Liquid Fit Technology. A liquid is injected into the boot through small tubes, and just one minute later it has molded to the perfect fit for the skier.
A proper fit is just as important for helmets. That's why they can be individually adjusted both horizontally and vertically to match the shape of the head. Various ventilation systems also ensure good airflow inside the helmet.
Goggles provide the right visibility on the slopes. The scratch-resistant lens technology increases contrast and is available with a red lens for active winter sports enthusiasts or a green lens for a relaxed day in the snow. The lenses can be easily swapped out as needed. The goggles also feature UV and anti-fog protection.
