When young aspiring mountaineers get tired, child carriers are the ideal solution for continuing to explore the mountains together. Child carriers must not only be functional but, above all, remain comfortable over long distances. The Pìcol Child Carrier is made of high-strength 210-denier nylon and features a sturdy yet lightweight aluminum frame for reliable carrying and handling. Our easily adjustable Dry Back Custom carrying system features a height-adjustable back panel, anatomically contoured and padded shoulder straps, and an individually adjustable hip belt. The extra-padded lumbar support ensures the necessary comfort during longer outings. In addition, load-control straps ensure the child carrier sits optimally against the back, while pre-shaped hip fins provide a secure fit and ideal weight distribution to the hips. The Pìcol stands out with high-quality features for both child and parent: rain and sun protection with UPF 50, a child seat with breathable mesh inserts, and removable, washable fabric padding. A spacious 14-liter storage compartment and a secure inner pocket for valuables offer plenty of space, while two hip belt pockets keep small items within easy reach at all times. The front section can be detached and serves as a practical 9-liter daypack, and removing the lower compartment as well as the detachable backpack reduces the weight to the “Light” version. As part of the Salewa Committed collection, the Pìcol features a water-repellent, PFC-free DWR finish and is manufactured according to strict, independent social and environmental standards.
