Salewa North-x ICE AXE

The North-x ICE AXE from Salewa is an indispensable tool for mountaineers on demanding technical tours. Whether for mountaineering, alpine tours or climbing - this ice axe covers a wide range of activities and offers maximum reliability. Particularly noteworthy is the precision-caststeel head, which fits perfectly in the hand when used as a support ice axe both when ascendingand descending. The aggressive, replaceable pick ensures a secure grip on ice and rock.
Another outstanding feature is the 20° offset shaft design which, in combination with the balanced weight distribution, enables optimum swing behavior and efficient placement. The hand rest, which can be adjusted in height with one hand and without tools, offers perfect grip on steep terrain and slides upwards when penetrating the snow without hindering the construction of a belay station or use as a support ice axe.
Additional safety is provided by the standing sling on the shaft with a tensile strength of 5 kN, which is also suitable for self-belaying. The insulating plastic grip zone protects against the cold, which is a great advantage, especially on longer tours. The North-x ICE AXE is available with shovel and hammer and offers the option of using spare parts such as the Pick Guard, Spike for Ice Axe, Handrest for Ice Axe, North-x Blade and Leash.
