The Mountain Trainer 2 was designed for hiking and via ferrata and features a form-fitting Dry Back carrying system and split shoulder straps for improved breathability, plenty of freedom of movement, and a secure fit. The slim, agile 28-liter version has a lid pocket and an easily accessible front compartment. Dry Back Contact: The Dry Back Contact carrying system ensures that the load is carried close to the body while keeping your back dry. This is achieved by reducing the contact surface and using 3D ventilation channels, which provide greater evaporation per cm² than traditional designs and lower the temperature in the mid-back area. The two-part compression system and a hip belt that completely wraps around the hips—equipped with an additional gear loop for via ferrata carabiners and a mesh pocket—ensure that the backpack fits securely and the load is optimally distributed. Stability and Control: For greater stability and improved control, Salewa’s Twin Compression System (TCS) features upper and lower compression zones that allow for easy volume adjustment. This ensures you can always keep the load centered and stable. The lightweight Split Shoulder Straps give your arms plenty of freedom of movement and further reduce the contact area, so you sweat less and air can circulate better.
