Thanks to the balanced weight distribution with the center of gravity in the head of the ice axe, it enables good anchoring in ice. The straight shaft made of anodized and hardened High-Tech aluminium 7075, T6 ensures easy penetration into the snow and a secure stand as a Tanchor. The sharpened shovel is ideal for effective step cutting and grooming.
Practical openings at the head of the ice axe and at the lower end of the shaft make it easy to attach to a carabiner. The Alpine-x ICE AXE is compatible with the self-locking SALEWA hand rest and -sling and thus offers additional safety. It has been tested in accordance with CE EN 13089, B and UIAA 152 certifications and meets the highest safety standards.
