SportFits advice

Ortlieb Vario

For the bike

26 l | 1,200 g

The essentials

A good fit if you commute by bike and carry the bag on the rack one day and on your back the next
A good fit if you take a laptop on the bike
Less so if you want to keep small things dry on the outside, as the pocket in the flap is not waterproof according to the description

What is it for?

How good is it?compared with the backpacks in our City backpack advisor

Weightheavy1,200 g

Our take

The Vario has a roll closure and a Quick-Lock mounting system that turns it into a pannier on your rack. To switch, you turn the front pocket inside out. Inside there is a bag with a laptop compartment, outside a mesh side pocket and reflectors.

How do we know?

From the details in the shop and from the manufacturer. The rating compares the backpacks in our City backpack advisor.
