Exped Icefall 40

The Icefall 40 from Exped sets new standards in alpine backpacks, combining durability with optimal weight. This weather-resistant touring backpack is specifically designed for professional mountaineers who venture into challenging alpine terrain year-round. With a volume of 38 liters, it offers ample space for all necessary gear. The spacious main compartment can be accessed both from the top via a roll-top closure and from the side, allowing for quick access to the contents, even in technical terrain.
Thanks to the high-contrast white fabric, you can find the contents of the backpack quickly and easily. The newly developed securing system ensures that skis or ice axes can be stowed safely and without wobbling. In addition, a spacious zippered front compartment provides space for avalanche transceiver equipment. For those who want to further optimize the backpack’s weight, compression straps and other features are removable.
The Icefall 40 is made from a rugged UHMPE ripstop fabric developed specifically for EXPED, which is bluesign® certified. This material is not only extremely lightweight but also highly abrasion- and tear-resistant, making the backpack a virtually indestructible companion for alpine and ski tours. With a water column rating of 20,000, the backpack is also water-repellent and offers reliable protection in adverse weather conditions.
