Dale of Norway Vågsøy Feminine Sweater

The Vågsøy sweater is heavily inspired by the Dale of Norway Cortina sweater from 1956. This reinterpretation features the look of a knit sweater with raglan sleeves. The Vågsøy wool sweater is made from 100% lightweight wool, features slightly loose sleeves, and a crew neck that is lined with skin-soft merino wool for added comfort. A revolutionary new wool treatment using natural, non-toxic salts makes the Vågsøy wool sweater soft and machine-washable. The pattern is taken from the 1956 Dale of Norway Cortina sweater—the very first Dale of Norway Olympic sweater, produced for the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo. The Cortina pattern embodies the essence of Norwegian tradition and has become one of Norway’s most popular patterns. Vågsøy is an island off the coast of Nordfjord, one of the fjords on Norway’s west coast. The island is home to the town of Måløy, one of Norway’s most important fishing ports.
