PFAS(per- and polyfluorinated alkyl compounds) are a group of more than 10,000 substances that are also known as fluorocarbons or fluorocarbons. As they are non-degradable, they accumulate in nature and have been proven to be a danger to human health and the environment in higher concentrations. The use of PFAS was long considered acceptable for the so-called DWRfinish (u201eDurable Water Repellentu201c): with this finish, water rolls off the surface instead of being absorbed into the fabric.
