Guide
How much should a touring boot weigh?
It depends on what matters more to you. Light boots save energy on long tours, while heavier, stiffer boots guide the ski more on the descent. Manufacturers state weight differently: usually per boot in a reference size, sometimes without a size or without saying whether it refers to one boot or a pair. The finder only shows a weight when the manufacturer states both.
What does cuff rotation mean?
Cuff rotation is the angle through which the cuff can move in walk mode. More movement makes taking long strides on the ascent easier.
Which skins do I need?
Skins fit the ski, not the boot: the width and length depend on your touring ski. You can find them in the shop under touring ski skins.
Frequently asked questions
Will every touring ski boot fit every binding?
No. Pin bindings need pin inserts in the boot, while frame and alpine bindings need a compatible sole. Have the combination checked by a specialist retailer.
What size do I need?
Touring ski boots are measured in Mondopoint, which is your foot length in centimetres. Try them on with touring socks.
