Deacon 74

The Deacon 74 Pro defines the way to experience piste skiing in a completely new way. The ski combines an ultra-competitive with a playful concept and allows the tightest of radii and explosive skiing style with maximum creative development. The 3D.glass construction with Speedwall Multilayer wood core, Powered by Titanium and P-Tex 4504 base is rounded off with a continuous sidewall. The UVO 3D enables unprecedented shock absorption. The pre-assembled rMotion2 binding with GripWalk provides the necessary power transmission on the tip and tail rocker with 74 mm middle width.

Technologies and manufacturing processes

  • rMotion2

Significantly improved transfer of power and control This is a complete system whose significantly lighter race plate ensures optimum flex and grip. The prime driver behind this is the 20% wider construction, which allows for significantly improved transfer of power and control. The toe piece also ensures greater stability, while the heel mechanism provides better mounting convenience.
  • UVO 3D

UVO is the first freely rotating damping system and enables groundbreaking vibration damping of the ski. Every terrain, every surface under the ski generates vibrations during the descent. This causes the shovel area in particular to vibrate in every direction. This inevitably disturbs the smooth running of the ski and it becomes more difficult to keep the ski on the edge. The revolutionary UVO technology has been proven to absorb these vibrations, and both horizontal and vertical vibrations are noticeably reduced over the entire length of the ski. The descent becomes more relaxed and calmer, the edge grip more effective.
  • 3D.glass

Völkl's latest development 3D.Glass once again enables an improvement in the handling characteristics and stability of a ski, especially in difficult snow conditions. Compared to a classic glass construction, the three-dimensional and multi-folded fabric layers in front of and behind the binding area result in increased edge grip and a more lively springback of the ski in curves.
  • Speedwall Multilayer Wood Core

The sidewall continues inside the ski in the form of directly backed, extremely stable wooden layers on the flanks of the sandwich core. In combination with a more flexible, lighter wood in the middle of the sandwich core, this construction offers numerous advantages: The hardwood portion within the side panel provides increased power transmission, contributes to better edge grip and supports the edge in case of external force. The softwood portion in the middle of the ski ensures greater agility and maneuverability due to its lower weight The combination of both types of wood over the entire length of the ski contributes to an optimal stiffness distribution of the ski and enables more precise ski control The construction offers highly athletic skiers a combination of agility and stability, which also allows them to win the decisive hundredths of a second between victory and defeat.
  • Powered by Titanium

Titanal in ski construction makes the ski lively and dynamic. Especially friends of hard, fast and aggressive skiing styles benefit from the reaction speed of this construction.
  • Full sidewall

The sidewall along the entire ski length ensures direct and best possible power transmission.
  • Base P-Tex 4504

P-Tex 4504 is a sintered, high-quality coating with a high molecular weight, which is characterised by its special resistance and sliding properties. At Völkl it is used in all premium all-mountain and racing ski models.
