For stop-and-go activities in the mountains like speed hiking in autumn and winter, temperature regulation is an important factor. The Pedroc TirolWool® Responsive Jacket is a lightweight, warm and breathable jacket for fast movements in cold conditions. Made from TirolWool® Responsive , Salewa's proprietary hybrid technology wool insulation fill, it ensures just the right blend of insulating performance and breathability. TirolWool® Responsive combines the natural benefits of wool from Tyrolean mountain sheep with high lanolin content with state-of-the-art, heat-regulating technology. The wool keeps you warm even when damp, helps regulate body temperature and inhibits odor. Responsive is a patented blend of thermoreactive minerals that are pulverized and melted into a resin, which is then incorporated into the core of recycled polyester fibers. It has the unique ability to convert the body's radiant heat into infrared light, store it and gradually release it back into the body. This stimulates circulation and blood flow while maintaining long-lasting insulating performance and accelerating recovery. On the arms and chest, we use a 50-g fill of TirolWool® Responsive , which we wrap in a lightweight, windproof nylon shell and waterproof with a DWR finish. Thanks to the underarm inserts made of double-woven Durastretch material, sweat can evaporate and dry quickly. An insulated hood provides protection, while two zippered side pockets and a security pocket on the chest provide ample storage for items you need to have quickly at hand. Furthermore, this jacket can be packed in one of its side pockets to save space in any backpack.
