• Alpaca wool

  Alpaca wool has good insulating properties and good thermal characteristics. The animals live in their homeland at altitudes of up to 5,000 metres and their wool makes them very well equipped against cold, wind and wetness, but also extreme heat. The wool of alpacas is therefore suitable for the production of summer and especially winter clothing. As far as wearing comfort is concerned, alpaca wool is on a par with cashmere wool: It is fine, very soft and lies smoothly on the skin. With the same fineness of the material, alpaca wool even feels softer than merino wool, for example. Another advantage of alpaca wool over other wool fibres is the absence of the "pilling effect". Alpaca wool is called the "fleece of the gods" and is one of the highest quality natural fibres.
