W's Pace Jacket

What makes it special? What really sets Women's Pace Jacket apart is how it feels to wear the garment. The shapes that follow your every move. The light, breathable materials that help regulate your body temperature. The soft and silent touch of the fabrics. The design and materialization has a perfect balance, ideal for high pulse activities in cold weather, when you need light weather protection but never want to become overheated. How does it work? Women's Pace Jacket is made with a new fabric called Octa C9 Softshell. The construction features a smooth, durable face and a backer with open filament fibers, creating a light insulation that never hinder breathability. The face breaks the wind and is treated with a PFAS free water repellency finish that will shelter you from light snow or a quick rain shower. The whole idea is to give you enough protection for harsh weather but still give your body full freedom to breath and perform without becoming overheated. The jacket has two side pockets and drawstrings to adjust the hood and bottom hem. What should I use it for? Women's Pace Jacket is designed primarily for high pulse activities in cold weather like ski touring, mountaineering, hiking or snowshoeing. For alpine environments or colder climates it is definitely a 4-season garment, perfect for trekking or climbing when summer temps drop at high altitudes. It is a versatile garment, and the minimalist design opens up the possibilities. This garment is recyclable and we kindly ask you to return it to Houdini at the end of its lifetime. We can use the materials to create new products, eliminate waste and save our planet’s precious resources. Houdini recycling units can be found in all Houdini stores and at many retailers.

Care instructions

  • Airing laundry instead of washing saves water and energy and extends the life of the garment. Be sure to wash your shell if it has been used in salt water or has become very sweaty or dirty, as this will weaken the garment's performance. This can reduce the breathability of the fabric and damage the water repellent surface. The dirt can even allow moisture to seep through the fabric.
  • Use our wash bag to protect your clothes and prevent fiber leakage. When cleaning the bag and filter in the machine, make sure you clean it and throw the lint in the trash can. Never rinse it in water, as we don't want the fibers to end up in lakes or oceans.
  • Machine wash cold
  • Use mild, environmentally certified cleaning agents and use an appropriate dose.
  • Avoid fabric softener. This is not only harmful to our environment, but also negatively affects the performance of clothing, especially moisture transport and breathability.
  • Hang the shell out to dry. Just remember to apply heat to the garment after washing to reactivate the water repellent surface of the shell fabric. Use a drying cabinet, dryer or iron. Make sure that the heat is well dosed so that the garment does not melt.
  • You can reapply or reinforce the water repellent treatment as needed with a wash or spray. Always use an organic DWR: You can find both a spray and a wash in the webshop or in our stores.

Technologies and manufacturing processes

  • Octa C9 Softshell

Lightweight softshell fabric with a smooth, durable exterior and a reverse side with open filament fibers, providing lightweight insulation that doesn't hinder breathability. The surface breaks the wind and is treated with a fluorocarbon-free water repellent finish that protects you from light snow or a short rain shower.
  • SOFTSHELL

Softshells or single-layer shell products are garments with a water-repellent surface but without a membrane.
  • Circular

This product is completely circularly produced. Means: It is made from either recycled and recyclable fibers. Most products in today's society have a linear life cycle where the earth's resources are extracted, used and then thrown away. This doesn't work in the long run and has a big impact on the environment. Instead, we want to close the production cycle and reuse materials we already have. But we need your help. If one day your Houdini apparel is completely worn out, please bring it back to us. We have recycling units in all Houdini stores and at many of our retailers.
  • Recycled

At least 50% of the fibers in this product come from recycled sources. Either from recycled clothing or other origin, such as from PET bottles. We use mainly recycled polyester, which has many advantages. It reduces both CO2 emissions and water consumption compared to virgin polyester. By how much depends on the recycled type. One of our suppliers, for example, brings it to 32% reduced CO2 emissions and 94% lower water consumption for mechanically recycled polyester. In addition to the impact of production, Houdini's main approach is to reuse supposed "waste" as raw materials instead of original virgin crude.
  • Recyclable

The material of this product is fully recyclable. Instead of becoming waste, the raw material can be used for new products. Our goal is to remove no more new raw materials from the earth's crust by 2030. Circular products made from recycled or recyclable materials can truly change the game of manufacturing culture. We need your help, though. If your Houdini apparel is completely worn out, please bring it back to us. We have recycling units in all of our own stores and at many of our retailers.
